Following last year’s success at the 10th OPENFOAM® Workshop at Ann Arbor, MI, USA, ENGYS participated as Platinum Sponsors at the 11th OPENFOAM® Workshop held in Guimaraes, Portugal, from the 26th to the 30th of June 2016. The event was organised by the IPC/i3N-Institute of Polymers and Composites from the University of Minho, attracting more than 300 people from all over the World from both industry and academia.
On the two days of technical sessions, ENGYS presented a series of papers focused on new meshing methods, improved Conjugate Heat Transfer solver techniques, applied Geometric Immersed Boundaries, surface morphing technologies and Cloud based HPC for CFD. ENGYS also delivered on the second day of the event two training courses on meshing methods available in OPENFOAM® and the use of HELYX-OS, an open-source GUI developed by ENGYS to facilitate all pre-processing tasks in OPENFOAM®, including meshing, case setup and solver execution. The Workshop was closed on the fourth day with the HELYX® Open Seminar, an informative session about the company’s open-source based CFD product HELYX® which had an excellent reception among the many attendees.
ENGYS is already looking forward to next year’s Workshop in Exeter, England.
