ENGYS is delighted to announce the release v2.1.1 of HELYX®, a comprehensive Computational Fluid Dynamics software solution for engineering design and optimisation based around the open-source library OPENFOAM®. The software combines the best of both worlds: the proven capabilities, support and reliability of commercial tools with the inherent advantages of cost-effective, scalable open-source solutions.
HELYX® v2.1.1 incorporates several minor enhancements and bug fixes with respect to v2.1.0, including an updated version of HELYX-Core (v2.2-1.1) based on the OpenFOAM® v2.2 library. HELYX-GUI has also been improved to remove most known issues, including an enhnaced version of the VTK display libraries for Windows systems. Other improvements in this version include:
- Improved distributed parallel computing (DPC) interface in HELYX-GUI
- Improved hex-based paralell meshing algorithm
- Added support in HELYX-GUI for solution monitoring function objects
- Up-to-date documentation, all accessible via the Help menu in the GUI
